Advalight's main asset is its specialised expertise in the field of laser technology. The complex scientific research underpinning the company's technology is widely acknowledged as ground-breaking and has enabled the company to develop products that will yield new advantages for users.

Advalight was founded in 2006 and is based on years of scientific research in the Physics Department at the Technical University of Denmark. Two PhDs' ground-breaking research forms the basis of the Advalight laser technology and associated patents. Co-founder Morten Thorhauge received in December 2010 the Danish Optical Society's 2010 award for his work with the Advalight technology.
