In contrast to competing technology, the laser from Advalight does not involve operating costs such as the replacement of dye. The technology also presents a number of advantages to the user, all resulting in lower costs, clinical benefits and an enhanced working environment. The laser is not as noisy as some lasers, does not require toxic solvents or extensive cooling systems.

Solid-state lasers have outperformed other laser technologies within all wavelengths/colours except for the yellow segment as it has not been possible - up until now - to develop a yellow solid-state laser to meet market demands.

The last stand of the dye laser is the yellow spectrum. Dye technology has been replaced by solid-state technology in all areas except yellow.
